Eight A6 notecards, (four each of two designs) with images from Marc Brunel’s watercolour renderings of his greatest project, the Thames Tunnel.
One design shows a tunnel inspection by boat after a flood, the other shows a boat on the Thames above the tunnel while figures walk through it below. Different colouring shows the different strata the tunnel was dug through. The couple in the tunnel are thought to be Sophia Hawes (nee Brunel) with her husband Benjamin, whilst the figure with his back turned may be Marc Brunel himself. One of the figures in the boat is Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
